Share results with staff

Staff deserve to see results, and they are often best placed to explain them and suggest solutions. Share them as information about the program, not as ratings of individuals:

  • Present results at a staff meeting, starting with strengths.
  • Share center-wide or age-band results that meet the reporting threshold, not classroom results.
  • Share themes from comments instead of the raw comments.
  • Ask staff what they think is behind the results and what would help. Teachers often know why a result looks the way it does.
  • State clearly that survey results are not used in performance evaluations.

If survey results suggest a concern about a specific staff member, address it through your normal supervision process, based on your own observation and documentation, not on the survey.
