Finding the story
The most useful insights come from connecting separate pieces of information. At the sample center:
- Agreement with “I receive enough information about my child’s day” fell from 83% in the spring to 61% in the fall, a drop of 22 points.
- Six of the 16 fall improvement comments mention missing information or the new family app.
- Two spring comments praised the paper daily sheets.
- The program change list shows the app replaced paper daily sheets in August, between the two surveys.
Together, these point to a specific cause: families are getting less information about their child’s day since the switch to the app. The comments point to the missing details, such as meals, naps, and diapering, and to updates arriving after pickup.
“Would recommend” also fell, from 86% to 77%. It may be related to the communication change, but the data doesn’t show that directly. Note possible connections without overstating them.
