Weekly billing and monthly reports

Many centers bill tuition weekly but read their reports monthly. A year has 52 weeks, and 52 ÷ 12 = 4.33 weeks per month on average.

In practice, some months have four billing dates and some have five. A program that bills every Monday will see noticeably more tuition in five-Monday months. That is not growth; it is the calendar. Budgets built on 4.33 weeks will show favorable tuition variances in five-week months and unfavorable ones in four-week months.

To convert a weekly rate to a monthly one, multiply by 4.33. To convert monthly to weekly, divide by 4.33.
