Moving from Compliance to Culture
It’s easy for a performance review to become a regulatory checklist â licensing minimums, safety audits, attendance. That focus isn’t wrong, but on its own it teaches staff to aim for the floor and stop there. Employees start to experience the review as an annual administrative task rather than something connected to their daily work. Over time, that disconnect between the review and the classroom can quietly lower engagement, raise turnover, and wear down center culture.
