Documentaiton

Documentation before the meeting — date-stamped notes gathered across the full cycle — reduces recency bias, converts vague impressions into verifiable facts, and helps you tell the difference between a coaching opportunity and a disciplinary issue. Documentation of the meeting itself creates mutual accountability, gives both parties a shared record of what was agreed, and provides defensible protection if a dispute arises later.
